Parts of a plant

roots

Roots are underground. Roots have two functions: They fix the plant to the ground and they absorb water and other substances from the soil. Plants have a thick root which stores food.

stems

Stems supports the plant. Stems transport water and substances from soil. Stems divides into branches and suport leaves and flowers. Have two groups: herbaceous are soft and flexible like grasses.Woody stems are hard and rigid like busses or tree trunk.

Bushes: have a  shorter trunk and grow neer the ground.

leaves

Leaves grow from the stem and branches of a plant. Leaves contribute to make the food of the plant. Leaves use sunlight , air, water and minerals to make the food for the plant, this process is called photosynthesis.
